TU FACE IDIBIA PROFILE

Easily the most celebrated artiste of his generation, Innocent Ujah Idibia aka 2face is credited with being one of the key figures in the rise to global prominence of what has been described as the sound of 21st century Africa.
His distinctive blend of reggae, R&B and traditional African musical influences creates a vibe that is contemporary and universal while maintaining a clear African identity.

Just as he has done with the seemingly effortless balance of huge commercial success with awe-inspiring critical acclaim, 2face, the Nigerian born, bred, packaged and promoted artist has maintained his status as an authentic world class brand, highlighting the fact and keeps inspiring millions of young Nigerians to keep the faith that no matter where one is born, no matter where one is based, world class results can be achieved with hard work and the right attitude.

Born in Jos, Plateau state in the 70s to Mr. and Mrs. Michael Idibia, the young man fell in love with music from a tender age and journeyed to Lagos after a diploma programme at IMT Enugu with Austin Ahmedu aka Blacface in 1997 and alongside Chibuzor Orji aka Faze, they launched the boy band, Plantashun Boiz that took the nation by storm and created the template for a new Naija pop sound.
In 2004, 2face went solo and recorded the phenomenally successful solo debut, Face 2 Face, which included the global anthem, "African Queen".
Two brilliant offerings ("Grass 2 Grace", 2006 and "The Unstoppable", 2008 plus the revolutionary Unstoppable: Int'l Edition (2010) and almost two dozen hit collabos later, the Otukpo, Benue state native has proved his class, versatility and staying power beyond doubt and earned the status of a superstar and cultural icon.Down to earth, accessible, charming, funny and engaging, 2face has won a greater measure of respect and admiration from people for his humility, warmth and empathy

Through his foundation, 2face Idibia Reach-Out Foundation, 2face has dedicated a great amount of time, effort and resources towards reaching out to fellow humans in need. "What we do for ourselves dies with us but what we do for others remains immortal" he posits. He believes also that help is best served quietly. "The important thing is that the beneficiary feels the impact of a good deed. He/she doesn't even need to know the identity of the benefactor but you know sometimes publicists and management won't just let it go unreported", he concludes.
2face loves to play video games, football, basketball and snooker. He favours African dishes and cherishes the time he spends with his kids. If he weren't a singer, he probably would have been a goal-keeper. Funny, for someone whose so adept at scoring – hits, ground breaking achievements and more!
