YEWANDE COLE PROFILE

She’s the first and only female flight engineer in Nigeria. According to her, she opted for flight engineering because didn’t want the usual professions like medicine or pharmacy. I wanted something more challenging, for a woman, aviation is a rare field and I saw it as challenging enough. Cole works in the ADC airlines cockpit. she monitors the functioning of all the systems electrical, hydraulic among others to ensure a safe flight.

She trained the Brumel Technical college, Bristol, England to study Aircraft Radio Engineering. Cole was also studied flight engineering at Pan Am training school, Florida USA. She had worked with Bristow Helicopters, Lagos for 11yaers as an aircraft maintenance engineer before joinning the ADC in 1996.
